Black cats, and doormats are all I see as I make my way home up the road, and the stillness of the terraces feels like it’s a therapy as I ponder my thoughts in the cold. True to form I’ve been drinking again and though I feel like i’m a man in the zone, there is a faint thumping of dread for the words which have been said via the pixels painting texts on my phone.

They read, “Well I’ve been trying to reach you, where are you? i’ve been lying here awake the whole night!?” and in a blind moment of panic my fingers turned to static, and I hit delete instead of reply.

Straw hats and Sun tans, are things that any girl like you deserves and then more, to be the apple in the eye of a high wage earning guy who brings his time and money all to your door.

And I'll admit I'm a dreamer but I'd rather be dreaming with my head in the air, than to be stuck here on the ground for decades, hanging around wasting my time from 10 till 6 on a chair.

I told a lie, when I said it would be different, and crossed my heart, and if you’d looked me in the eyes you would have seen that I was lying from the start, ‘cause I am, I am, I am, I am a selfish man. But there was never an intention, just a truthful apprehension on my part.
